Festival CINERGIE's reach spans the traditional homelands of the Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinaabeg, Oceti Sakowin Soyate (Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda), Dënesųłiné, and the homeland of the Métis/Michifs, encompassed by the Treaties 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10. Predominantly founded and directed by Francophone settlers and immigrants, we partner and work with indigenous organizations and individuals, and hold ourselves responsible to feature indigenous films annually to uplift and amplify voices of indigenous artists and filmmakers, and allow an ongoing dialogue towards Truth and Reconciliation.
